To use admin-assisted recovery, you have to turn it on, or activate it when prompted, before you forget your Master Password. If you reinstall the Dashlane browser extension or clear your cookies on your browser, log back into Dashlane right away to authorize that browser so you can use it to make an admin-assisted recovery request in the future.Ībout authorized browsers Request an admin-assisted recovery if you forgot your Master Password Important: To make an admin-assisted recovery request, you have to use a browser that you've already authorized. How admins can turn admin-assisted recovery on or off for their plan Note: If you don't see this option, your admin has turned off admin-assisted recovery for your plan. Select My account, Settings, and then Security settings.Then, in the extension pop-up, select Open the web app. Select the Dashlane D icon in your browser's toolbar and enter your Master Password if prompted.If you didn't turn it on when prompted, you can turn it on anytime in your settings: To use admin-assisted recovery if you ever forget your Master Password, you have to turn it on for your own account. Tip: Still worried that you might forget your Master Password? Download and log in to the Dashlane mobile app. Note: If you do remember your Master Password but no longer have access to your 2-factor authentication tokens, you can reach out to your admin to have them generate 2FA recovery codes for you.
